Emirates Global Aluminium PJSC (EGA), the largest premium aluminum producer based in the UAE, announced that the first part of its Al Taweelah smelter expansion project has been launched.
The annual production capacity of aluminum will reach 30,000 tons contributed by 26 new reduction cells at the production line 1.
EGA planned to build 66 new reduction cells in the Al Taweelah smelter, extending its three production lines. The completion was expected to increase the Al Taweelah smelter's hot metal production capacity by around 78,000 tons per year.
The production lines 2 and 3 of the expansion project will be started later this year.
The current completion rate of this expansion project has reached 70% as scheduled.
