According to Emilio Braghi, president of Novelis aluminum company, the auto industry would rely more and more on aluminum processing market, mainly due to the demand for lighter weight of electric vehicles, which resulted in longer driving distances by the same battery capacity.

Nunzio Cuppoletta, from Hydro Extruded Solutions, believed that the demand and consumption of electric vehicles were expected to increase for the aluminum processing market. However, due to the low degree of dispersion in the market, competition would be fierce. He added that the growth of aluminum demand indicated that companies planned to develop the aluminum industry.
