Constellium recently posted that it had received a US$9.5 million donation from the US Department of Defense (USDOD) to improve its aluminum cold-rolling facility.
The reason was the Ravenswood facility at Constellium would supply the USDOD with high-performance aluminum products related to combat locomotive trajectory and defense.
To meet such sophisticated military requirements, the money would be focused on improving the plant's manufacturing process and process control.
Buddy Stemple, CEO of Constellium Rolled Products Ravenswood, said that Consellium was in urgent need of this donation in the current market environment and was willing to serve the defense forces.
