According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), the output of 10 major non-ferrous metals in China totaled around 4.9 million tons in August, up by 4.4% compared to the same month a year ago; that in the first 8 months of this year amounted to approximately 38.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%.
Besides, the statistics also showed that Chinese output of primary aluminum were around 2.97 million tons in August, down by 0.3% year on year; that from January to August reached 23.5 million tons roughly, a year-on-year hike of 1.4%.
