According to China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the US has launched a series of investigations as Section 332 and 232, anti-dumping and countervailing duties against aluminum foil and aluminum sheet imports from China.

The high tariffs have made Chinese aluminum plate exports to the US fell below 20,000 tons from 60,000 tons monthly, and those of aluminum foil dropped from 20,000 tons to 7,000 tons, a drop of more than two thirds.

The US now proposed a 10% import tariff on Chinese additional US$200 billion of goods, including 21 aluminum materials and products. In facing of the US extreme protection trade policy, China should expand domestic consumption and explore the surrounding markets, especially in Southeast Asia and South Asia.
