From the expectation of the second quarter in 2019, the demand of aluminum will increase, and it will drive price up. Although the demand of aluminum from industries for auto-parts and accessories has drop, the needs from construction and power grid industry were still strong. Based on those, the power of destocking in the second quarter can be highly expected.

Because of the Chinese New Year festival, Chinese aluminum export output decreased more than 30% in February, compared with in January. In March, the exports of aluminum from China have risen back to approximately 500,000 tons, as the same level with first month in 2019.

In conclusion, although there were some obstacles, the market still expected aluminum prices to rise in the second quarter.
