Chinese bauxite imports continued to maintain a high level in January. The supply of bauxite in Guinea and Australia was around 3.5 million tons and 2.4 million tons respectively, an increase of 114.6% and 13.6% compared to the same period last year. Influenced by the rainy season in Indonesia, China only imported around 387,000 tons of bauxite from Indonesia in January, down by 29.4% in December last year.
The Malaysian bauxite mine owners continued observing the market and still haven't gotten the export license. At the same time, the bauxite import from India to China was suspended in January.
