According to the statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) on July 16th, China produced a total of around 6.4 million tons of alumina in June 2019, up by 5.4% compared to the same month a year ago, which hit a 2-year high since May 2017.
However, due to oversupply in the domestic market, the price of alumina in China reached a new low since August 2017.
According to the report from the Australian Department of Industry, alumina price will drop in the next 2 years as the supply resumed gradually.
