According to statistics, Chinese alumina producers imported 8.87 million tons of bauxite in May this year, sliding by 1.77% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 21.88% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the top three importers were alumina producers in Shandong, Shanxi, and Henan.
In the first five months of this year, the imports of bauxite purchased by Chinese alumina producers totaled 43.25 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.78%.
