According to statistics of August 10, China’s social inventory of electrolytic aluminum ingots was 511,000 tons, falling by 6,000 tons from last Monday and by 182,000 tons from the same period a year ago, standing at a low level in the same period over the past five years.
In addition, the resumption of electrolytic aluminum production is also almost completed. Total production in Yunnan has been resumed by 1.4 million tons per year in June-July. In July, the production resumption was 930,000 tons per year, mainly in Yunnan and Guizhou.
The decline in inventory indicated that the market demand is relatively high, and the production resumption nearing completion represented limited room for increased supply.
