According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China’s alumina output totaled around 6.988 million tons in May, growing by 5.4% compared to the same month a year ago.
During the period, China’s primary aluminum output was up by 3.1% year on year to 3.42 million tons, and aluminum alloy output hiked by 16.2% year on year to 1.03 million tons.
In the first five months of this year, China’s alumina output had a drop of 0.5% to 32.35 million tons, primary aluminum output had an increase of 0.3% to 16.4 million tons, and aluminum alloy output grew by 8.4% to 4.51 million tons, all compared to the year-ago period.
