According to China’s official data released on Tuesday, the country’s primary aluminum output fell for a fourth month in October, to 2.55 million tons, down by 2.3% compared with September’s 2.61 million tons.

Comparing with the same period of 2016, the number was 6.6% low than October. The decrease of production was a result of the closure of illegal smelting capacity, high cost and official restrictions regulations for winter.

China is world’s largest aluminum manufacturer, its aluminum output was seen to dip further in the coming month as the restrictions would continue, and it was a part of the government’s battle against pollution.
