On Wednesday, China physical alumina prices fell to RMB3250/ton in case, down by RMB50/ton compared with the previous day, or by RMB150/ton compared with previous week.
In December, primary aluminum contract on Shanghai Futures Exchange (SFE) was closed at RMB14,170/ton on Wednesday, which was 11.3% down from one month before.
Market analysts said that alumina prices in spot market would weaken until end December, when smelters’ stockpiles were likely to deplete and re-stocking purchase would pick up before the New Year.
