According to China Hongqiao Group, a world's leading aluminum producer, the second phase of the Indonesian alumina plant, Well Harvest Winning, should start before the end of this year, which was originally planned to be completed by the end of 2020.
The first phase of this alumina refinery on the island of Borneo has been put into operation in 2016, whose annual output is 1 million tons.
The launch of the second phase of this Indonesian project will raise the production capacity by 1 million tons.
Hongqiao Group currently has an annual alumina production capacity of around 16 million tons, most of which are in China.
