Ball Corporation, a provider of metal packaging in the US, planned to build a new manufacturing plant in Chilca, Peru to expand its business in South America due to the continuously growing demand for aluminum cans globally.
The plant will cover an area of 95,000 square meters and have an annual production capacity of 1 billion beverage cans. It was expected to be put into operation in 2023.
It will mainly produce aluminum alloy cans in various sizes to serve the growing packaging market in Peru and the neighboring countries. More than 100 direct and 300 indirect new jobs will be created as well.
