Ball Corporation, a provider of metal packaging in the US, announced the acquisition of Alucan, a European manufacturer of aerosols and aluminum bottles, adding two new manufacturing plants in Llinars del Vallés (Barcelona), Spain, and Lummen, Belgium.
The move was in line with Ball’s business strategy to simplify sustainability for its customers by providing scalable aluminum packaging solutions. Besides, it would complement Ball's existing business, increase its supply capacity for large-diameter aerosol cans and impact extruded bottles, and expand its offering range of aluminum bottles for personal and home care products.
In the future, Ball will work to reduce the weight of aluminum cans and increase the use of recycled materials, thereby reducing its carbon footprint.
