Santoni, president of PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia (BAI), said that the construction of an alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1 million tons in the Galang Batang Special Economic Zone has been completed and tested with good results. The alumina refinery was expected to put into full production in June.
Besides, BAI is now building another alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 1 million tons at the current progress of 30%. The whole construction will be completed in early 2022 if the project goes smoothly.
