It was reported that the Suez Canal blockage accelerated the shortage of aluminum products for the transportation and construction industry.
Due to the surged aluminum production of European mills and inventory refilling by industrial consumers before the COVID-19 epidemic lockdown was lifted, the supply of aluminum billet came into short rapidly, which hiked benchmark aluminum prices to the highest since mid-2018.
There's been no sign showing aluminum products being blocked in the Suez Canal so far.
