According to report, LME aluminum prices rose a third times on Tuesday, reaching a five week highest since the US announced to sanction on Russian producer United Company Rusal as raising the concerns over supply.
LME aluminum gained 6.9% for the last three days and aluminum price in China rose only 1.9% as sanctions announced on Friday.
China only imported about 14,631 tons of primary aluminum from Russia in 2017, but Russia was still the top foreign supplier of aluminum.
Rio Tinto would be the biggest winner of Rusal sanctions as the penalties would keep affecting the global metals trade and rise costs for the US users.
