On account of levying steel and aluminum tariff by the US, the aluminum price has fallen to a record low over seven months, settling at US$2000/ton above. In addition, the aluminum price was the biggest falling among base mental price this year.

The LME three-month futures price of aluminum was US$2004.5/ton, which was not only the only falling product among all base mental price, but also the biggest falling within single quarter since 2011.

In addition to levying steel and aluminum tariff by the US, out of control in aluminum output was another reason to cause low price in aluminum. As a consequence, the trend of aluminum might get worse if the inventory couldn’t decrease.
