In 2022, the demand of North American market for aluminum sheet and coil was expected to grow by 5%, especially for automotive panels with the most significant increase.
Braidy Industries said that demand for automotive aluminum was estimated to increase by 78.6% in 2017-2022, reaching 1.25 million tons roughly, and demand for aluminum sheet and coil will be raised by 12.6% to 900,000 tons.
Besides, it was mentioned that domestic mills' capacity has reached the upper limit, but Section 232 Tariffs caused import price and cost to rise. Then, the supply of automotive aluminum and alloy steel will be certainly limited.
At present, Braidy Industries is building its next environmentally friendly aluminum rolling mill in Kentucky, and this plant will operate more efficiently and save more related production cost.
