It was reported that Allison Transmission Holdings, Inc., the largest manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty automatic transmissions in the world, acquired Walker Die Casting (Walker) and C&R Tool & Engineering for approximately US$103 million.
Walker Die Casting is a high quality aluminum die castings supplier based in Tennessee, US, and it has been supplied products to Allison Transmission for 20 years. C&R Tool & Engineering is a provider of die cast dies and tooling services based in Sheffield, Alabama. The firm has been the supplier for Walker and other companies.
Allison Transmission expected that the two acquisitions will not have a substantial impact on the earnings in the current fiscal year.
