It was reported that Apple Inc. purchased carbon-free aluminum from Rio Tinto and Alcoa's joint venture (JV), Elysis, and Apple will receive the first batch this month.
Elysis, the Montreal-based JV between Rio Tinto and Alcoa, was founded by an investment of US$ 144 million by Rio Tinto, Alcoa, Apple and the governments of Canada and Quebec.
