Alcoa Corp., a leading aluminum producer in the US, announced on October 15 that it has reached an agreement to supply up to 16.5 million tons of smelter grade alumina to Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) for a period from 2026 to 2035.
The alumina that will be supplied for ten years is mainly from Western Australia.
The contract extension is a recognition of the long-standing relationship between Alcoa and Alba. It makes Alcoa become the largest third-party alumina supplier for Alba.
Additionally, this contract extension also meets Alcoa's strategy for the long-term stable supplier of Alba in the next decade and supports itself to become the preferred supplier of alumina supply.
