Recently, the Al Taweelah Smelter of Emirates Global Aluminium PJSC (EGA), an aluminum conglomerate, hit a milestone on its total output of alumina since April, by around 600,000 tons.
Such a huge amount of capacity was only 88% of the plant's full capacity, as the rest of the capacity had not been fully started.
However, Abdulla Kalban, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of EGA, said it was expected to start operating at full capacity in the coming year. And the target of alumina this year for Al Taweelah Smelter was more than one million tons.
Al Taweelah Smelter, as the largest operation in the Middle East, under the company of EGA, had higher interests in bauxite, alumina and primary aluminum.
