Development of a multi-billion aluminum flat-rolling plant in Mississippi is reportedly nearing completion. Critical production equipment has been placed orders.
This project includes a biochar plant that will produce feedstock for the 2.3 million sq ft rolling mill. The plant, which received nearly US$300 million in construction incentives from the state of Mississippi, will produce 650,000 tons of aluminum annually. When the project is fully operational, the two sites should employ about 1,000 workers.
The biochar plant is scheduled to be completed in 2024, and the plant will be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
