Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro reported that its bauxite production totaled around 2.65 million tons in the first quarter of this year, down by 6% compared to the previous quarter and keeping flat from the same period a year ago.
Meanwhile, the company’s alumina output was 1.55 million tons, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 1% and a year-on-year increase of 2%. The primary aluminum production slid by 4% quarter on quarter and by 8% year on year to nearly 500,000 tons.
In the first quarter, the adjusted EBITDA was NOK 7.525 billion, up from NOK 7.184 billion in the previous quarter and dropping from NOK 11.165 billion in the same quarter last year.
