According to Japan Aluminium Association (JAA), Japan’s aluminum demand in 2022 hasn’t resumed to the 2019 level. It was down by 3.8% year on year, totaling 3.85 million tons, owing to the decline in domestic demand and exports.
Among them, the domestic demand dropped by 3.7% to 3.64 million tons, and the export demand slid by 6.9% to 208,000 tons, both compared to the year-ago level.
