According to preliminary statistics from the Aluminum Association, the aluminum demand in North America (the US and Canada) grew by 4.8% in 2022 compared to the previous year.
Charles Johnson, President and CEO of the Aluminum Association, said that although there are some headwinds and weak demand in the second half of 2022, the data showed the aluminum industry will last forever.
Geopolitical disruptions, supply chain issues, and inflationary pressures might continue to be the challenges in 2023, while the US aluminum industry will remain strong in the medium to long term with the historic investment and continued market growth opportunities in this industry last year.
