According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), the primary aluminum output in North America totaled 325,000 tons in May this year, increasing by 3.17% compared to the preceding month while dropping by 4.13% from the same month a year ago.
In the first five months of this year, North American primary aluminum production amounted to 1.58 million tons, down by 4.54% year on year.
During the period, South American primary aluminum production reached 483,000 tons, up by 2.11% compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
