YKK Corporation, one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers headquartered in Tokyo, plans to use alloy wires made from low-carbon aluminum to produce eco-friendly zippers. YKK has signed a cooperation with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. and Sumitomo Electric Toyama Co., Ltd. regarding the use of low-carbon aluminum
The plan is in line with YKK's strategy of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The procurement was expected to start in the fiscal year of 2024.
