Bintan Alumina Indonesia (BAI), an alumina refinery in Galang Batang Special Economic Zone (KEK), reported that it has exported 550,000 tons of smelter grade alumina (SGA) to Malaysia since the operation was started on December 8, 2018.
BAI’s Senior Advisor Purba Robert Sianipar said that the export of smelter grade alumina has brought Indonesia’s foreign exchange earnings reaching US$212 million. Now BAI has an aluminum refinery that is able to produce smelter grade alumina.
