Global aluminum demand impacted by trade war
It was reported that the demand for aluminum decreased due to some factors such as trade tension between China and the US and the global economic slowdown. Global aluminum consumption was expected to slightly rise by 1.3% year on year in the second quarter of this year, reaching 16 million tons.

China, the largest consumer of aluminum, predicted its demand will be only up by 0.5% year on year to 9.4 million tons in the second quarter. Moreover, the sales of car in China, the largest aluminum consumer industry, have fallen for 11 consecutive months, and the sales in May had a year-on-year decline of 16.4% to around 1.9 million units.

It was believed that the trade dispute between China and the US might remain this year, which caused a series of problems, further impacting global economic growth.
