This week, Australian Bauxite Limited (ABx), a Sydney-based company with operations in Tasmania, Queensland, and New South Wales, announced that they detected the highest grades of four “super magnet” Rare Earth Elements (REE) at its DL130 bauxite ore deposit in northern Tasmania.

The result from their latest testing indicated a high concentration of neodymium oxide (Nd2O3). According to current tests, this site has 1,878 ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO). This is the company's another record high result in its testing for REE.

After testing, ABx found that there is a layer of bedrock at this site and the subsequent testing must penetrate it to get more information. The thickness of this REE zone is at least three meters thick and its length is over 3.25 km.
